I spent the summer with Mathematicians. It was supposed to be a couple weeks in New York, but became a full post-production session. We just finished the feature. We also finished the DVD, well almost… There’s a couple menu buttons that don’t work right, but those are easy fixes in the scope of things. Did we plan to shoot a feature? I know we talked about it, but good grief… Well anyway. We’re here now. I’ve gotten used to saying that a lot lately. We’re here now. The past two months have taught me a valuable lesson about achieving a healthy balance between a knowledge of your history, versus “dwelling in the past”.

Tim, Beth and I watched the first burnt copy of the DVD at John Oakley’s place this afternoon. We stopped by to pick up a chainsaw and watched the movie instead. It rocks. I’m proud to be a part of the production and I’m looking forward to shooting some more of the guys on this upcoming tour. Did I mention that we leave tomorrow? 46 days… I thought it was a forty day tour, but last night Nick told me it was forty-six. Frankly, it doesn’t much matter. What’s the Difference? There’s little difference in those last six days. It’s rareified air after thirty days out. I’m looking forward to getting my tour legs back. I love the swagger that fills you after seven days out. I’ve been shackled to a computer screen for to long. It’s time to let it run. Pure. Super. Energy.

One last thing before I sign off. The bank is screwing us. There was trouble with the financing on the new van, so we’re packing the old van and may take the tour in that one. Hope to freshuan that the magical credit monkies at Ford can swing some early morning magic and hook us up with the fifteen passenger van. I’m really not to excited about stacking six people into one bench seat and two buckets. 10,000 miles is a long time to sit on a milk crate in a wheel well. Looks like I’m really going to need those air-travel brownies after all. Roll with it, right? We’re here now. Stay tuned to see what tomorrow’s “here now” turns out to be.
